Dear Residents/Participants:

The Housing Authority of Cheraw has been selected to participate in the Moving to Work (MTW) Demonstration Program. MTW provides the Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) the opportunity to use Federal dollars more efficiently, help residents find employment and become self-sufficient, and increase housing choices for low-income families. MTW allows PHAs exemptions from many existing public housing and voucher rules and provides funding flexibility with how they use their Federal funds.

The Housing Authority of Cheraw will implement the activity to streamline Utility Allowances for the Public Housing and HCV programs as follows:

Cost Effectiveness - Streamline Utility Allowance - Standard utility allowance for PH and HCV.

The Agency compared the Utility Allowances for the Public Housing and HCV programs and averaged the cost of the Utility Allowances for 0-5-bedroom units for both programs.
