Message from the Executive Director

Last month during our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony I launched the VISION 10 for the Housing Authority of Florence. Stay tuned for more details.

The month of May is an active month. National Mental Health Awareness, Lupus Awareness, Lyme Disease Awareness, Physical Fitness and Sports, National Bike Month, and Memorial Day, May 30, 2022.
It is important to take care of your mental and physical health. In most cases they go hand in hand.
Give yourself permission to take a mental day when needed. By taking a day to relax and recharge, you are giving your body's immune system some time to catch up. Taking a few deep breathes to calm yourself is another simple way to help with mental stress.

It does not always take a high-intensity workout to be physically fit. Try a brisk walk, a run, bike ride or dancing. Not only will it help to alleviate stress levels and is great for your cardiovascular system, it's FUN!
Wear PURPLE to show your support on MAY 10, 2022 for World Lupus Day.
Wear NEON GREEN throughout the month of May for Lyme Disease Awareness.
National Bike-To-Work Day is May 20, 2022. Please be on the look-out for our 2-wheel riders/drivers.
Memorial Day will be celebrated Monday, May 30, 2022. Enjoy your family and friends, grilled food and fireworks! But most of all be safe. Remember, our offices will be closed in observance of this national holiday.

NEF-Scholarships

The Nelrod Education Fund is offering scholarship opportunities for "C" level high school students living in public and assisted housing throughout the U.S.

$1000 scholarships will be awarded to further education and to defray a portion of books, software, supplies, and other materials.

Applications are due May 31, 2022
